my job

Well, i don't know who i've told about my job, but i might as well give an update on what i do! I'm an accounting intern at Fleishman-Hillard, which is a public/international communications company. Basically, they help companies get press to promote themselves. I work in accounting, obviously, with the other 6 interns. Usually there are only four, but two are leaving and two are in training. There is karla, 22, who i am replacing when she leaves in July. SHe just graduated from college and is getting next summer. Then there is Kelly, 23, who is leaving this friday and moving to South Carolina to work for KPMG- Amanda, 20, is taking her place. Then there is John Pickering, 21, and Chris Word, 21?. So we have lots of fun and talk a lot. WE all work in one room, a conference room, that they have just put four desks and computers in. Our work consists of supporting the accountants- we do a lot of journal entries, entering them and posting them in different ledgers, depending on the business unit. The St. Louis office of FH basically records all the financial activity for the whole company, which has offices all over the world. When not doing journal entries, we just do other work and projects that they give us. I have to admit that it was quite daunting when i first started, not knowing how to do anything and being the youngest by far, but it's been a good experience. i would rather not have to drive downtown everyday and use up so much gas, but its alright. Just waiting for the work day to end . . . lm
