Two saturdays ago, March 1, was the annual Outing Club Wild Game Feast. I was one of the main cooks, along with Sarah Lake and Katie, and we cooked venison leg, wild boar ham, Spicy beef chili (thanks to my recipe from Melanie), cheesy biscuits, Laura's famous cheesy potatoes, and apple crisp with snow cream. It was a delicious feast. Preperation for dinner started around noon, and then there was some communication misunderstandings, and Sarah didn't get any of the stuff i needed her to get, so i got to go back to the grocery store. in this process, my car got stuck in the snow at the bottom of the hill, and Mike and Tom had to push me out. I didn't drive down to the cabin again. But the food turned out really well, and we had about 30-40 people, so it was quite successful!
After the feast, some of us decided to go on a sledding adventure. There is this hill over in greenville that is a no winter maintenance road, and it is 1/2 mile long. So you just keep on sledding forever, and get going so fast! There were two cars that went along, most of us were crammed in Cory's truck. Sarah and i had so much fun on our first run, even though we went sledding out of control, over a snow bank, and into a ditch; my leg went one way, and my leg went the other. So, needless to say that my leg is still aching from two weeks ago, go figure! but it was worth it! there were some typical Franklin/western PA folks at the hill, with a bonfire and beer and their big trucks. one of them had a snowmobile and would give us rides back up the hill, because it was such a long hike up. It was a late night, we didn't get back to campus till around 2, but it was soooo worth it!
